The Duan Wu Holiday

(Dragon Boat or Rice Dumpling Festival)

Qu Yuan was an official who fought corruption during the Chu empire (~300BC). After being slandered, he made a public statement and drowned himself in the river. People used hundreds of dragon boats to search for him, while beating drums to frighten the river into returning his body – all the while they threw rice dumplings into the river to keep the fish from eating his body.

What happened to the "Roaring Lamb" ending we've come to expect, and love.

Apparently to some it sounded like the cute little lamb chop was belching. :P Derek is working on editing the sound bytes. So when are you guys coming out here again? Next Duan Wu Festival for a spa bath?

Spa Bath? Where is the big guys in towels and lots of steam? I'm with Lanni, the tub of brown water isn't somthing I would like to jump into even if it does smell like watermelons.

Thanks for sharing
